A REAL crash problem with GaCiv
from
Stardock Forums
This message isn't just casual whining from a boy who tries to play with his father computer. I really am desperate.
The Game always crashes in few minutes after it has created the galaxy and the actual game starts. This happens when moving a ship, selecting technology, anytime, anywhere. After the crash, the game doesn't react to anything. Only the cursor moves, but nothing else works. The game cannot be left anyhow, so the only option is to reset computer.
I've updated every driver(graphics, sound, motherboard) and the game to its newest version. I cannot create a crash-log with Smart exception, because I cannot return to Windows after the crash. In other words, Smart exception isn't able to create a crash-log, because I always have to reset the computer after the crash.
The game is original and it has been tested on my friends computer and it worked fine. So the problem is my computer.
If you need more information, just ask.
AMD Duron 800
Asus Geforce 2 GTS
SBLive! 1024
Asus A7V motherboard
Windows 98SE
Sony 50x CD-ROM-drive
Direct X 9.0b(I've also tested 8.1, didn't help)
Thanks, Joel
