Fifty Ways To Leave Your Lover

mind music mixes me up

Ever wake up with weird songs in your head, songs you haven't heard in decades? It's as if you've just heard it on the radio, clear as day.

Lately, in no particular order, I've wakened (awoke? woke? waked?whatever) to tunes by Simon and Garfunkel, Barry Manilow, The BayCityRollers, and Creedence Clearwater Revival. But, not to say that my unconscious mind is hooked on the '70's, but I've also heard tunes from the 50's, big band era, and even Thomas Dolby's 'She's Blinded Me With Science' circa 1984.

It's not as if these songs were favorites in particular; Copacabana was a catchy tune, but what I really heard in my head last week was 'Mandy' well, you came and you gave without taking, and I sent you away, oh Mandy. What the hell?

Just a thought.

For some unknown reason, I often have the theme song to Green Acres in my head. It drives me crazy!

If you like Pina Coladas..........

There's only one way to get rid of a song in your head like that.......have to give it to someone else.

I like old standards. kinda reminds me of the good old days. dont get me wrong, i like the some of the new songs being made nowadays but lets be hoenst most of them have no staying power.here now gone tommorow. anyway for me nothing can beat the greats like Sinatra. if you guys wanna hear them standards try listening to Michael Buble or Beverley Staunton they have great voices.
