my political party doesn't show during elections

Hello,

I have a problem and don't know how to fix it.
I made a new political party which I use in my latest game, but everytime when there is an election, my party doesn't show up. But my party gets elected and just can't see by how many votes my party won the election.

Does anybody know what's going wrong?

Thanks

I'll bet it's your party's ID number. The first line after the party's name in the .party file says "ID" and then a number. That's the spot it has in the list. If it says "ID 20" and you only have 8 other parties, there'll be 11 blank spaces between your party and one before it. Scroll down and you'll see it. Then edit your .party file so that it has the next sequential ID number.

I thougth that the GalcivWriter put the first sequential number as default. I changed it but it's too late to check it. I'll know more tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice.

GalCiv Writer as of now won't put them in sequential order. It just gives you a suggestion to what the next number is. I hope Hawaiifive-O fixes that some time.

I find that really odd. It knows there are 8 parties; it says so at the bottom of the screen. Unless there are already misnumbered parties, that means that the next number has to be 8. So why does it "suggest" 20?

That was a hint for those of you who are wondering what they should type in when it asks you for a number, BTW.

check out the options tab on galciv writer. in it you will find the section where you define the next sequntial number. it is set to default at 20. if you dot like 20 then change the number. if you know your last party's id no. then set the selection to one up. that would sort it out for you.

The Evil Empire sorts another problem out. Next the Altarians ;)

1. use galciv writer to view your political parties.
2. click 'file' and then 'sort by id'
3. using bottom arrows move between the files and make sure your new party is next sequential number.
4. if it isnt, then edit the party and change its id number. save changes. write to file.
5. Done

make sure there are no gaps between party numbers or you will not be able to use party to its full potential.

if youre still having probs then by all means send the party to me in zipped format and i will check it for you. ->[email protected]

if youre still stuck email me anytime
