Stuck between turns
from
Stardock Forums
Hi,
I've been experiencing problems with GalCiv waiting between turns which make it pretty much unplayable - I've had one normal game, so I know how good it is, and I'm desperate to get it working consistently so I'd be grateful for any suggestions. When I press enter to end a turn, the clock face appears in place of the turn button, and nothing happens for quite a while - sometimes 5-10 minutes, sometimes hours. Reloading solves the problem for one turn only, and clicking through my planets, ships etc to check whether anything needs to be done doesn't make any difference. The only solution I've found is in one game where opening a diplomacy screen often started the next turn, but this hasn't worked since - can anyone suggest any other ideas?
This problem occurs with auto end turn on, with it turned off I get a similar problem where I can move my ships around but nothing else in the game happensfor extended periods of time - no AI movements, no research or production. I don't think it's my computer as it easily meets the requirements (Duron 1100, 320mb).
Cheers,
