DSL submitting problem

Hello everyone I bought this game today and after a nice cultural victory I thought I would try and submit my score. But at the end of the game I never got to see a submit button, it just went straight to the Main Menu. I have tried to search the forum for a solution but to no avail.

I use DSL and am permantly connected. If I click on the Metaverse button in the main menu it brings me straight here so I don't think the game thinks I am not connected to the internet.

If anyone has any helpful suggestions for me I would greatly appreciate it as I would like to get started on Metaverse.

Thanks for your time.

Congrats on your nice victory. :)

I think you first need to register an alias to use in the metaverse for it to give you the option to submit the score. Then make sure you use the exact same alias when you try to submit it or it will not register the score either. Neways hope this helps.

CariElf has said there have been some problems with DSLs before (not all DSLs though as I haven't had a problem), though I don't think I've ever seen her elaborate or give solutions.

Thanks for the replies guys. I registered an alias but I still get sent to the main screen after the game has finished. It seems like the game thinks I am not connected to the internet when I am connected. It's not a huge problem as I can still play the game but I would like to start to pariticpate in the online community a bit more.

Has anyone found a solution for this? :(

Make sure that the e-mail under your alias is the same e-mail you are register under.

I think he's saying he's never seeing the submission screen. Sounds like something Stardock will have to help him with.

hello,
I am registered - two times with the same pseudo, same number and same e-mail

if I am already registered shouldn't the metaverse refuse the second attempt to register the same pseudo and all ?

the game finishes ok, I get the "would you like to register your score" window, I say yes, after a while I'm back to the main screen and a window shows :
Etat test d'envoi : 1
Etat d'erreur : 0
(french version)

is it ok ? what's wrong ?

That means that the game was submitted without a problem, so your score should show in the Metaverse.

I am having also a problem submitting games from my work I use DSL also and it is because we have a firewall that doesnot allow my game to go thru from my terminal. So maybe if you are sending the game from work, you are having my same problem. Maybe is a DSL issue.

It could be a DSL issue but I don't have a firewall. It is very strange. I wonder if it is because when I started my game I was not registered, although I was by the time I finished it. I will play a new game and then see if an opportunity to submit comes up afterwards.

Do that and let me know, because it could be a DSL issue. ;)

Sounds good, I finished 2 games at work I sent them to Stardock and they didn't show up in my score, I forwarded them to my e-mail at home and I posted them from home and nothing, they don't show up, maybe DSL is somehow destabilizing the game.

I have a curious thought. Have you tried, after the movie plays but before you press done, to alt-tab and open internet explorer. Then alt-tab back to Galciv and press done. Silly but it may work if it sees ie open...

I'll need to try that, maybe it does the trick, but he funny part is that in my other terminal I could send the games but since I move to this new terminal and I updated to 1.12 I am having problems submiting games. I have one almost finish at work now, that I am planning to send home and finish there to se if I can post it from home.

How do you have your DSL set up? Does it use a router? Do you have zone alarm or anything like that running? If your'e using windows xp, did you check to make sure that the default firewall isn't running?

seeker master - your work e-mail normally takes about 12 hours to reach me, if at all. it looks like any attachments on it and i never get them. :( other e-mail works great though. sounds like a dsl issue poss. could be that the default action is to quarantine e-mails with attachments on them.

I know that is how mine works here (at work now). Most attachments get stripped right off. You can try zipping them, as that sometimes will get them through (works for me anyway). Work just not understand how important this is; after all the galaxy is at stake!

Hey Mayito,

Try putting the file on your empire's webspace and then telling Megatron where to go to download it (via private email). That way, you're not attaching anything! :)

thanks guys but mayito's new email works ok. :)
