If you are refering to what was once called a "popup" You have to make sure that your parent object is linked to the child object. First off, make sure that your parent has an object ID, to do this right click the object go to properties, then to Summary. Therein you will see Appearance, Description, and Origin.
In the Origin section you will see, Object ID.
Name your object whatever you want, and apply. Make sure you do this with the child object as well. Also for the child, make sure it's set to visible (at first) and static. This will prevent it from "disapearing" prematurely.
Now you'll want to go into the General Section.
you'll see to your left "Object Type". Click the Change tab, and assign it to "Object Controller". Then in the small box underneith you will need to find the child object and click it to put it's name in the box. When you do that the child object will be associated with the parent. Click Apply. I suggest leaving both objects' properties boxes open til you are sure it will work. If it disapears and won't reappear you can change things til it works without having to reload DX. before closing out make sure you go back into the Relation settings, and switch it from static to whichever you choose, and back to General to UN-click visible. Also if you want, you can also go into Summary of the parent and associate the cild with it. Just go to Parent/Owner, and locate the child. That way there they will be associated with each other as objects as well, and not just popup controller, and image.
I hope this helps! Let me know one way or the other, and I may be able to help more!
