I'm I just a bad player or.....

I always win when I play on map sizes like medium or large on settings like Normal. But I win because I collect the anomolys that give my servyship +1 attack find an alein home world early on and dont let ships leave it usualy only take a year for them to surrender. In the mean while I am at war with everyone but usualy the Torians. I quicky wipe out the Acearns and Alterians taking 2 or 3 of their systems before they have strong millitaries so they surrender and the Yor and Derign always seem to star right next to each other as far away from me as possable and kill each other off before I can send most of my ships that far out and by the time they get their the surviving empire is to weak to defend thems selves and are surrender monkeys. Everyone seems to be surrender Monkeys because I always seem to attack before they have a fleet larger than 10 ships and mine has like 30 offensive ships and usualy 5-10 ships defending my systems. In the last 5 games I have played not one of my worlds have been attacked and the game hasn't lasted longer then 50 years.

I hade one game that lasted over 200 years on begginer on a gigantic map and it has been my favorite game to date but resently the AI has not done anything fast enough to stop me for taking all of the good worlds. Neather to they abide by Intergalactic law about legaly Anxing star Systems. I had a class 17 planet in the midle of my space and was waiting to take it after colonizing sytems a few sectors closer to the AI so they coun't take them well i had the system Anxed and had a colony ship on the way and 2 turns away they had a colony ship that slipped through my partold and collonized the world I soon after took it but still.

Normal isn't quite... on equal footing- the AI is crippled at that level- try intelligent and get over your ego- or maybe dare you risk bright level AI's?

That and if it's so easy, I'd expect a lot more Metaverse scores to appear...?

And don't forget: you don't have to turn up all the race's difficulties together. I eased into playing challenging games a little at a time.

There are so many choices and options you could play a dif game all the time and the variation will help make it harder.

If you still find it to easy just let the AIs get a foothold and military before you try anything or even try to win using culture, tech., etc after fouling things up for yourself.

With imagination you could make shure you loose all the time.

And with the altarian prophecy, you can build your own scenarios, and preset starting positions. That should make possible for some interesting chalenges :)
