Am I doing something wrong?

Hey All,

I just got this game a few days ago and so this might be a stupid question.

Many times when I try to have my survey ships auto-survey the ship will just stand there waiting for my command. Other times the ship will move away and start to auto-survey. Am I missing something here? I don't understand why the ships sometimes move off on their own and auto-survey and other times they just sit there till I give them a spot to move to.

Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?

there has to be an anomaly within its sight for auto-survey to work. one way round this is to send ship to part of map not yet uncovered and if it comes accross a new anomaly it will automaticaly turn towards it. select auto survey first, then click your destination.
