Players & Empires of the Year!

We will be doing a bunch of stuff in the coming days/weeks for the top GalCiv players and empires from 2003. We didn't want to say anything before the year was up so that there wouldn't be any last second mass gaming to change positions too much..

Here are the top 10 empires from 2003:

I somehow doubt if all the players in all the top ten empires will get t-shirts..... :( - there are about 500 players in those empires - what does a printed t-shirt cost these days - perhaps four or five dollars...

I don't think everyone will be getting one either. If I can remember correctly (don't quote me on this) I didn't give Stardock any information relating to my address. So I doubt if I will get one.

Either way, Frogboy and the rest of Stardock, you don't have to bother, having this game is more than enough prize. However having a T-Shirt that will advertise Stardock/Galciv may not be a half-bad idea ;p . Good way to get your name out there!

Like all printing, it's based on volume. 500 single-color-imprint T-shirts shouldn't cost more than few dollars apiece.

Wow!!! Just returned after a fun filled weekend to find this!!

I just can't believe what a great company Stardock is. Little surprises like this is what makes this community and this game such a hit. Stardock has went so much further above and beyond the call of duty, it's just unreal.

How about action figures of all the top players? Then everyone who's frustrated to see people above them in the rankings can just buy that player's figure and smash it around their room. That should calm them down for a little while. When they start to get worked up again, they can just buy a new action figure and smash it.

If people are just gonna break them like that, you could make them out of really cheap materials and no-one would care. Hell, you could just relabel Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, and GI-Joe figures as GalCiv characters. With ideas like that, you should hire me as a marketing director. You could even pay me in action figures. Smashing them will help me relax while I think of some more marketing ideas.

Seriously, I've got no idea what this "bunch of stuff in the coming days/weeks" is gonna involve, but I'm sure it'll be fun to watch!

i have an idea instead of t-shirts. how about having the top empires appear as special minor civs in galciv2? im not really sure how the top players would be put into galciv2, maybe for them, send them a t-shirt LOL .
