Upgrading from galciv to drengin.net?

I bought galciv in the store and then I wanted to upgrade to drengin.net. I couldn't find any upgrade option and ended up paying $69, the full price of drengin.net, as if I didn't have galciv in the first place.

Is this the only way to upgrade? Hardly seems fair that you don't get credit for your store-purchase...

Slothrop, it may be a wee bit too late, but check out http://www.galciv.com/upgrade.asp That was where I was directed by Stardock to upgrade for $34.95.
