The Galciv Library will now hopefully be updated a bit faster than it has in the past. Once i get to grips with the way it works, i will try to ensure it is updated frequently.

Who is John?

 

Ok have made a start on updating the Galciv Library. Anyone out there who was discouraged about submitting your mods here, please think again. I hope to bring the waiting time for new mods to appear down to a reasonable time period. Appologies to those of you who have had to wait in the past.

 

If there are any questions, mod typo's or any othere relevant questions, please post them here in this thread.

So would the mods in the library then be considered "approved" and minimally unbalancing or merely "functional"? I wonder if that question even made any sense. LOL I haven't really toyed with any mods at all and hence know little about them. Just looking for some information. :)

Thanks. i will look into the possibility of an entry page for the library. however all mods that are submitted from this point onwards will be made a note of and later (when i can get the time) i will create a list of all the 'balanced' mods. :)

Ihetre if you have any questions regarding the use/creation of any mods please either leave a post in 'Megatrons mods site news' thread or e-mail me > Megatron

Imaginos all the mods in the library are ok to use, however some have, in my opinion, crazy effects.

If anyone has a mod they think is very well 'balanced' then please let me know the name of it and a brief reason why you think it is. This will speed up the creation of the 'balanced' list. On the same note, if you know of any 'imbalanced' mods then let me know about them too.

Mod spotlight of the week

Each week i will be doing a spotlight on a mod that i believe has outshone the others submitted that week. To start thing off my first spotlight mod is....

Galactic Dump by PJ

Mod Description

In the years since Hyper Drive was developed societies have been dealing with their age-old garbage disposal problems by either launching their garbage into a nearby star or abandoning it in space. However, recent studies have suggested that these practices encourage the breeding of Space Sharks, which pose a danger to all societies. Therefore we find it necessary to set up a Galactic Garbage Dump, which can be supervised to prevent space shark breeding. Who will have the unpleasant task of managing this dump? (-20%% Morale)

 

This mod is a well balanced and cleverly thought of creation and would be a great addition to anyones game.

Hello all,
Can i get walked through exactly how to download an addition such as the garbage dump? I am registered and everything its just that when I download, where do i want to put the file? also how do i get the game's a.i. to upgrade its strategies, through the library?

There is no way at the present time to upgrade the ai :(

If you would like to add 'mods' to your game (like Garbage dump) follow this link. Mods_Site

On the site you will find a section called install instructions. That page will walk you through installing and using mods in your game. If you get stuck by all means drop me an e-mail Spellforce and i will help you out.
