Stupid things about galactic civs

In the galactic civs manual it says that if people are happy then they aren't going to defect. But planets seem to defect whether the population is happy or not and the skull and crossbones never goes away whatever you seem to do. I think that only planets that would normally be in unrest should threaten to defect to other civilizations. This is beacause I feel that causing people to defect purely beacause they're surrounded by alien shopping centers is unrealistic and just plain silly. If you can use the shops on offer and are happy why would you rebel to join an alien race that will most likely treat you as second class citizens or worse as slave when you're on the other side of the fence anyway. Wouldn't happy people just buy the alien goods and go home without dangerous thoughts of rebellion on their minds. Perhaps they should invent an inactive system by which you are warned that if the planet goes into unrest it will promtly defect. Feel free to write your own complain on this post.
