How can I tell which home planet a ship has?

Hi,

is there a way to figuere out which home planet a ship has? When it is damaged I can send it on auto retreat.

But when it is not yet damaged, how can I tell?

Are there other consequence beside the faster repair on the home planet?

Thanks, Volker

Basically the homeplanet is the planet you started the game with, except if it gets conquer and then your capital its moved to another of your planets. Usually the homeplanet is where you should built all your capitals and wonders because usually is the fast growing population planet in all your systems.

Thanks, I know. Usually my home plante is Mother Earth ...

I thought each ship has it's own home planet where it get's repaired faster? But I do not build all ships on the same planet.

It is a disadvantage when a ship from Earth defends Kwilias and a ship from Kwilias defends Earth. It should be the other was round to profit from the home repais bonus.

But how can I tell where a ship was build when I didn't name it by myself?

I don't think you can say where it was built unless you rename it after it has been built, but that will take a lot of time, usually when a ship is damaged I just send it to the closest planet I have and wait a turn or 2 and it will be repaired completely, also you must research in the tech tree for those techs that will improve the repair rate of your ship such as basic repair, advanced repair, etc. In the following website you will find a lot of useful information

For repair purposes, I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter which planet you send it to.

"Home planet" only matters because improvements like shipyards on the home planet affect the stats of ships that are built there.

Home planet also matters for freighters, obviously.

Did you know that building shipyards even AFTER a ship has been built and left home will still gain you the attack and defense bonuses? You don't have to build the shipyards first. You can build all the ships you want, then upgrade them by building shipyards later. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but that is how it works.

This boosts the AIs because they build all improvements, including all the shipyards, and getting the bonus after the fact really helps them.

The only way I know to identify ships by home planet is to rename them when you launch them. I don't bother. It doesn't really matter in the end.

Yes, that's one of the reasons I would like to know which ships belong to which plants.

Best thing would be to have both. The possiblility to sort the ship list according to home planet and the informaiton about the home planet on the ship info list.

Unfortunately you are forced to build on all planets. That's my major criticism on the game mechanics. I guess it's because Brad likes the federal concept :HOT:
