weird sound problem after update

Hi

after up dating if i started the game using the desktop shortcut or symbol on start menu i'd get music but no sound effects...

i had to change the target from"C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Galactic Civilizations\gcmenu.exe"..

To:"C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Galactic ..
Civilizations\galciv.exe"..

PS...when i used stardock central to download bonus pack and update is the bonus pack just integrated into regular game or do i have to access it seperately

anybody run in to this..hopefully it won't cause problems. :notsure:

The bonus pack should be integrated directly into the regular game.

GCMenu.exe is a flash menu and Flash opens a sound channel that it doesn't close before Gal Civ starts running (if it does at all) and that generally causes problems because most sound cards only support a limited amount of sound channels.
