Downlaods not being counted

It's not a big deal, but several of my screenshots have at least 1 more download than is counted. I am wondering if this is the case for anyone else.

Downloads on screenshots changed with the new site. Everytime it was viewed it was considered a download, because you are downloading an image. Even if you click on the download button, you are still doing the same thing, just downloading an image. It used to be that every time it was viewed, you would get credit for a download. That is how I and some others got over 10,000 downloads. I have since deleted all but a handful of my screenshots, because it is not right to compare an image to a skin. In other words, I should not get 10,000 credited downloads for a screenshot that it took maybe a half hour to create, when someone spends three months on a windowblind and receives the same 10,000 downloads. No matter how important or unimportant screenies are (and I believe they have their place), they are not skinning. They are assembling others' skins. I am still not a skinner.

Anyway (too much caffeine) Now, I believe that screenshots are figured at a percentage (just a guess). If it is viewed 50 or 100 times it is counted as 1, or something like that. I just know that there used to be 3,000 or 4,000 "downloads" on a good screeny and now there are 10.

I agree it takes alot more to make a skin than it does to create a screen shot. I was just wondering if anyone else was having the same problem. When I look at the little downloads window and it say's 8+1=8, there is something wrong. I do not care, except for the money myself and other's have put into this sight, and Stardock products, there ought to be more accuracy and less trouble with the sight and the products.

When I look at the little downloads window and it say's 8+1=8

What little download window gives you that info? Are you downloading the screenshot to check the counter? If so, that might be why you think it's not working. You can download a skin 50 times, and only 1 will be counted. Otherwise, some folks would just sit there and click the download link all day to boost the numbers.

No, I am getting that from the link under the star rating where it say's downloads. It opens a little window and tells you who and at what time the last download was. I'm not some folks. Cheating is not any part of who I am. A cheater never win's. I'm sorry you thought that.
some folks would just sit there and click the download link all day to boost the numbers.

Everybody has it. It is the only way of knowing how many downloads you have. I'm sick and don't feel good. And now I beleive I will Magically disappear before I say some thing's that would be best left for a time when I am not under the weather and feeling this cranky. I no longer care what the problem is. I wish I had never brought it up. I think I will be happy to share the desktop's I create with my husband. And him alone. That way it won't be implied that I might be a cheater.

Well with a nap, some more Nyquil, and some food in my stomach, I am in a little better mood. I am sick as a dog. Anyway, Thanks Koasati and SD for NOT helping this to turn into something ugly. I do not like fighting, and can usually not get angry like I did today. Anyway I sent T-Man the screen shot I sent SD. It says 8+5=12! Maybe I am too much of a profectionist. Thanks Guy's !
