Just to the right of the option "menu" at the top of the screen are two small buttons - one lets you set/unset rally points, the other lets you check the influence scores....

You can also press the 'P' key. After your rally point is set, you go to the planet screen and click on the... um... 'designate rally point' (something like that) button. Then select the rally point you want to use. It takes a bunch of clicks, but it saves loads of time in the long run. :) I'm just learning the new features myself. Did I get this right? Anyone know of a faster way?

A usefull thing to do with waypoints is use them for resources, saves all the trouble of trying to find them, and it allows you to send groups of constructors to upgrade starbases at resources with a few clicks, a good point to remember is that if you delete a waypoint it removes it from a planets target for production, so if you have ten planets set up to upgrade a starbase you only need to set the 'rally point' once for the planet production queue, just delete the waypoint and move onto the next one.
