Altarian prophecy save game prophecy.

I'm having an odd problem with Altarian prophecy saved games.

When I try and load a saved game, Altarian Prophecy exits and returns me to the launcher.

Anyone else seen this problem?

It's a known problem. The current Altarian Prophecy (pre-)beta cannot load save games.

The question i ask myself is , why didnt someone notice this back in december when it was released?? i just subscribed to Drengin and am a little bemused, i didnt expect ALL the expansion, just a few tweaks , maybe a few bits of new tech, the editors in a rough form or another, but most of all PLAYABLE to the extent that it worked with my current GalCiv, if i had known this i would not have subscribed and waited a while longer as its on a time basis (year? year and a half?) :notsure:

They did notice. It's been a known problem really almost since the day the beta was released. It's been reffered to many times on threads specific to the beta. And it's not the entire expansion, the new races and ships and plot that goes with them aren't included yet. As for a planned date of the next release I think Carielf said January 22.

the next release is sheduled to be out this thursday (Jan 22nd)

the save game bug they know about and has been killed (as well as a ton of others)

their hoping to have the races in and a few other things in by then if not hopefully they'll put out a "mini" update that fixes the savegame bug everyone has

Why I do not think it will be possible it would be great if the upcoming update will allow me to recover the game I was playing.

they have and are making alot of changes in the way the game is saved in AP so the answer to that 1 is a big ummmmm nope :)

It can't fix it automatically because the problem was that an offset was being saved incorrectly, and since the format isn't fixed, it would be really hard to write a function that would recognize where and how to fix the problem. 

Mainly, we wanted to know if there would be any issues with the editors.
