Yes, the new races do make the game more complex, with more possibilities. The relations treaty page does describe the new complexity of the galaxy foreign relations, with all those lines going everywhere :D

Doesn't the galaxy get a little cramped with two more races in there? I don't have the beta, I'm just wondering.

I started a small galaxy to test the beta. I'd say things are more leveled at the beggining, nobody taking a big advantage, and already one of the new guys gave himself up to the arceans. Things are looking good for now :D
