I need help with bootskin

I have a problem with bootskin. When I try to use a boot skin I get a message that says this:
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer.
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

I have tried a number of diffrent skins that I have downlaoded from this sight. As well as bootskin vers. 1.05, 1.03, and 1.02

So, do any of you know how to fix this?

Unfortunately, bootskin doesn't work on some PCs because of certain BIOS configurations ... I believe that is the cause. If you have tried the different versions and none of them work, you may not be able to use the program.

Unless someone else has some ideas, you may be right.

I have a problem with my boot skin, when it boots the image is not clear like the preview, my colorsa are 32 bit and my res is 1024X768, please help

Your res size needs to be 640x480 16 Colour (4-bit)

Some users upload the preview prior to the conversion to 16 colors 4 bit, but in reality BootSkins are only displayed on 16 colors. Your screen resolution has nothing to do with the bootskin.

There is a way to get a custom boot screen without BootSkin installed. It has 2 drawbacks:

1) You need to edit your boot.ini file (can cause system lockup if done incorrectly!)
2) It does not support the animated progress bar (that I know of!)

I can explain further if anyone's interested
