Had someone income from trade more than 80.000/turn?

Or it's a record for now?

;) Ellenstar you drive hard deals, you are the born salesman.... I hope I will never have to do buisness with you in real live ;) ;) ;) ;)

I play medium size maps, I never get more than 1000-1500bc income from trade. I think 80000 is pretty impressive

What did you do to get that? Did you make a sector full of trade-enhancing starbases?
I never got beyond 3 or maybe 4000bc...

10 maxed starbases along every sector of the route?

Gesh, I still think multiple starbases per sectors
is wrong(except resource mining of course)

I'm not sure if multiple starbases per sector is wrong. Just make diminishing returns possible. Note I had about 3000bc with no starbase on tiny maps. I guess on huge maps, if the ai trades mostly with you, even without starbases, you could get much bigger figures.

No, it's just a Trade Catapult(tm).

140 +50% trade starbases and ~+120 speed - so freighters staying in one place (really they are moving all trade route in one turn). Don't know why, but trade route length in Trade screen is 140 (but a speed bonus is 120). Freighters staying in 138/140 position - so virtually they'are always at the end of the route - better income.

680 constructors, 136.000 production points (+waste), 700 bc/turn maintenance. A real WONDER, not like any in-game ones. ;)

But i can set spending to 100% and taxes to 0% on Gigantic/Abudant with most of the galaxy already conqered.

Er, so its a mod?

How is that any different then just gifting yourself
the money with a hex editor?

using 680 constructors, makes the process of getting
80,000 credits per turn difficult and 700 bc/turn is
still less then 1%.

What mod??? No mods of course. It's standart 1.03 Gigantcic/Abudant/5 Incredible AI game. I started it in 4 May 2003. Trade Catauplt (tm)+War Catapult(tm) - near enemy, 240 speed range - covers almost all galaxy in both ways (so i can fly, attack and return). Goal was to win Military w/o culture flipping/tech trade and relatively fast.

Incidentally, would this mean that the "older routes are worth more" bit counts age in terms of number of round trips, not turns? Hmmmmm.

(...or was the value mostly because the mini-freighters were always in the sector that gave huge bonuses?)

What is a trade catauplt, I have never heard of such
a thing with respect to this game except from you.

It seems that traderoute age measured in months, not in trips (and it's logical - or shorter trade rotues will recieve too high modifier compared to longer ones). But you'll get more (several times difference) if freighter at the end of a trip - so a freighter on a turn 138 of 140 traderoute length gives several times more than same freighter on a turn 2 of 140 (this numbers are on the Domestic Policy->Trade ). Also, this value because the mini-freighters were always in the sector that gave huge bonuses.

Probably because it's my invention. ;) Didn't you see a (tm) - trademark?

P.S. I like it! At last something that gives a huge economy benefit in this game.

I think by "catapult" he means a sector stuffed with starbases with the speed enhancers (stellar wake, inverse tractor beam, etc).
Yep. 'Ship Catapult' is Veteran Za H invention.

By the way, where is he?

Yea ok got it, seriously think starbase bonuses need
to be capped.

So basicily you can catapult any ship pretty much
anywhere on the map instantly. Sounds abit cheesy to me.

Much less cheesy then you think. You said that you wan Tech victory in 1.03 in 3 hours. It takes almost the same time to build good ship catapult.

And it's definately less cheesy than Influence resources - it's too micro- and time-expensive to be really cheesy. Also, it don't allows you to win in unfavorable conditions - don't forget that you must build all these constructors before you'll get a bonus. And if you get it, you still can't effectively use it because of the difficulty of standart conqest.
