What is Stardock Central,and what does it do?

What does Stardock Central do for me? What are "mods" and and how do I download them?Also how do I update my game? I've downloaded the bonuspack thing but I don't exactly know what it did. So if anyone can anwser these,I'd be very happy! LOL

Stardock Central is a cool little app that will allow you to download the updates, bonus packs, expansions, etc. It also includes a browser, chat window, these forums, news and support.

Mods are add ons to the game like new events, techs or whatever. You can download them from the library at GalCiv.com. Most will have a read me file in the Zip file that will tell you how to install.
