However it is scary in that I'm a US citizen. But, it's funny to to sell stuff for many months, and then go back and see a huge negative balance in their treasury. I've played some games where the AI could not even build a single ship because of this!

I had a game where the Arceans had a balance of more than -2,000,000bc!! They are soooo stuupid!! (By the way, it was a maso game LOL)

They had upward of 100 Excaliburs. That broke them in military upkeep.

Yes, I do that to the AI all the time. Wait until they have a huge military, then culture flip their planets. No one to pay taxes, and they don't seem to ever disband military units, so they go hopelessly into debt.
