something really wierd happened

in the game ive been playing now, i thought i got a REALLY bad starting location, only 2 >15 planets INCLUDING earth, and in the lower left corner surrounded by the Yor and the Drengin while me playing goody two-shoes...
well only a few turns into the game, maybe a year or two, a new "race" was formed called the Pacifists or something the like, saying they were to free planets of their dictatorships, each and every drengin planet went automatically to these guys, and all except one of the Yors did the same... talk about alpha striking LOL
the good thing is that these guys are really friendly and have an enormous research, wich means i can buy high level tech and tradegoods for low low prices :)

has this happened to anyone else?

Those are the Fundamentalists, and they're really really nasty if you're an evil player like myself. They strike only at evil players and can really cripple your empire if they show up.

Agreed. I hate those guys.

I absolutely cherish every time the Fundies show up!! They are my best secret weapon against evil maso AI's (usually shortens the game by about an hour of cleanup time).

Fundamentalists? Bah! They turned up, took about three star systems from the powerful Arcean Empire, giving me ample excuse to instantly invade them without going to war with the (still powerful) Arceans.

Heck, and I'm saintly as well. Made peace with them, left them one planet and not too long later, I have close relationships with them LOL
