GalCiv on widescreen laptops?

Hi all,

My new 15.4" widescreen is on the way, and I'm curious how GalCiv will run on it. Anyone done this? It would be great if it took advantage of the extra space somehow.

No, it doesn't, but it would be cool if it did. In Fullscreen it's stretched and doesn't look that great. When I play on my laptop I usually play windowed and just move the window up so that the whole window is visible.

Gal Civ 2 is going to use Direct3D instead of the 2D DirectDraw, so it may be easier to make a special widescreen format.

Well it works on mine too, I just don't like how it looks stretched.

Of course, if I have a different video card than you, yours may look better than mine.
