The Amazing Wandering Starbases
from
Stardock Forums
Ok this should probably go in bug reports, but I thought it was pretty funny, so here goes.
I had a stack of constructers that had movement left. I clicked the create starbase button, and added 6 modules. Then I hit cancel because I was going to move my stack further and create another starbase. After I hit cancel I didn't pay attention to what was selected and just clicked to move. Much to my surprise, the starbase floated out from under the stack of constructors! It was able to cruise around until it ran out of movement (5/0 I think). You don't have to keep it selected, you can do other stuff and come back to that starbase and move it some more. It stops it's wandering after the turn is over though, so it has little practical value.
The only other bit of information that might be helpful is that a UP resolution was passed adding movement to constructors. I don't know if that has anything to do with anything, but I haven't tested the same scenario in a game without that so I don't know if it works.
