Really enjoying this game!

I just heard about GC when looking for reviews for MOO3 (glad I avoided that). Loved MOO 1 + 2 and GC is the spiritual successor to both in my books. Just finished playing my first game and I really like the "macro" management versus micro. I found it easy to jump in and make valid strategic decisions for my empire without having to count pennies or dig through several menus.
For example, I made the mistake of opening up not one but two Space Sharks early on in my tiny galaxy. Made life a living heck for everyone, but thanks to the "big picture" design, I quickly realized I could get the sharks to follow my Survey ship around the galaxy. So I just used my ship as "space chum" to lure the sharks to my better off opponents and let them chew their way through their ships and trade routes. Also I managed to keep them ocupied and away from my territories.
It was like getting two invasion battleships very early for free and with no "going to war" penalties with the other races. In fact they were begging me for anything to help with the problem, which helped my influence greatly. They kept everyone nice and weak until I was ready to invade.
One feature that would help newbies like myself would be a right-click help\info for the buttons, sliders and tech. I was sometimes lost looking around for information and fortunately found the helpful forums and guides (and the manual of course) to fill in the gaps. Some better ingame help would have been really helpful and make it easier to jump in and play. A minor adjustment that would make the game even more accessable.
But this is a great game and I'm having a blast playing it. I also really like the amount support that Stardock is giving their product and the listening they do to their fan base. GC is staying on my hard drive permanently now. Thanks Stardock!
