Another Anomolous Score - now in 1.2

I had a 13,000 something score, a long enjoyable game, only to find out that on the submit screen my score turned to 0 and when submitted it said anomolous. I did all the same things I have done in the past when playing with MODS: don't trade early, don't milk the minors until middle or late game (get in a war with them, ask for peace two turns latter, and take everything they have for technology and wonders :D LOL ;p ), etc.

Please, we need something that alerts one to when an anomolous score gets triggered at the least, that way, one can reload the previous save and try a different tactic, even if you don't know exactly why you triggered the anomolus exception.

I hate it when I lose a score without knowing why. Makes me want to go play some other game.

i had this once weyrleader and it is VERY annoying when you didn't do anything - it was triggered by too much cash early on (i didn't have that much cash in my mind....) so all i can say is SPEND SPEND SPEND!

Did any of the mods affect PQ - that is one area that is particularly sensitive....

There is a way to periodicly check to see if your score has turned anomilous.. (Zero) ..

1. Save the game regularly (usinga few different names/numbers.. eg: Mygame1,2,3,4 )
2. after saving the game select retire from the main menu
3. check your score.. if your MVP = 0 then reload from a prevous save.. if not.. then reload the latest saved game and continue..

Doing these steps means that you won't waste a game.. it'll also help you narrow down what caused the bad score...

Be wary about the AI trade round and wonder/good rush on reloading a game :( .

Thanks for the tips. I normally don't sava a game once I start - even if the game goes on for 3 or more days. I just leave it open and minimized and do the other stuff I need to do on my computer. The disadvantages of saveing and loading a game are too much. I believe that the two staregies that Stardock has created are not consistant, i.e., using MODS and Anonomous games. With out any real guidance on what causes anonomous games some are afraid to use MODS. Since AI can use anything you can use, MODS should not be an issue. If the problem is the generation of too much of something, such as money early in the game, or PQ, the the AI must not be able to do those things because of the way they are programmed and this would give too great an advantage to the human. My conspiracy theory is that the anonamous scores are generated by the AI when they fear they will lose too early in the game :d and this is their way of winning in the end. You think you win by a terrorstar attach, but they win when your score is 0. :( (:( >:(
