A thought on Governors

Don't let my little rant fool you, Gal civ's governor system works better than any "micromanagement solution" ever...dare i mention the laughable MOO3 governors?

My only problem is that the governor screen suffers from a slight UI problem, which im hoping the boys at stardock (all hail stardock!) might address. Btw, if this HAS been touched up in AP, please ignore my wailing and drop me off on the nearest Drengin penal colony :)

Finally, i get to the point; I think about it every time i play the game, wouldnt it be nice if you could right click on ships and projects in the governor window?

I mean, for the first few projects i know what i want to build, but after that my knowledge starts to falter and I find myself scurrying to a planet screen to remind myself what each project does.

The same goes for ships, although not as bad now as it was, the only remaining confusion tends to be with battlehammer/battlecruiser.

It would be handy though, if a simple right click would bring up an info panel similar to the one found in the planet screen, i.e. does it improve morale, etc.

I know im gonna get flamed by veteran players who have been through the wars and probably could recite every social project backwards to their friends :), but for us newbies it might save vital seconds which could be better spent grovelling for peace with the Yor.

Thanks

Don't fear getting flamed...especially not when you use such a nice tone. :p

As you mention as a veteran, one knows most of the social projects.

I would actually rather see the right clicking ability on the research screen (along with research cost for each tech), not that it is a major problem, but it would a very nice feature.

Btw...you should consider posting more, it is always nice to see as many players as possible being active on the boards :D

that would be a nice addition for newer players who are just learning how to play. Also, a setting on the governor screen would be nice for a mass destroy (i.e. if i conquer a planet, i dont want what the AI has on it cause it builds everything). So, when i take a planet, if it has a building on it on the destroy list, that building is automatically destroyed without me manually having to remove thousands of buildings per game.
