I'm on painful too. I'm holding my own. But I'm used to a tech edge at that level. It seems to have disappeared. The research tree's for the Aliens are better. Also, if you noticed, the mitresoft option for leasing is quite a bit higher in monthly payments on wonders and trade goods. You can only lease one or two really really important ones and are gonna have to trade for the rest.
