Getting a High Score With Anomalous Results...Please help!
from
Stardock Forums
I've tried everything to reduce the chances of getting an anomalous score, but cannot seem to crack it. I've used the galciv writer a little here and there to tweek some ships, techs, improvements, and political parties, however, keeping a good balance between them, like increasing their cost per ship tweek, increased penalties for loss of government control, and so on. I've even downloaded some Stardock approved mods, but I seem to keep getting that big fat zero for a score. Also, I've noticed that whatever pol party I choose, all the other races choose it too; WHY? I find this very shady and annoying in itself. Is there a way to change/modify that so the other races don't choose the same pol party as you? Is there a secret code of gaming ethics programmed into galciv that detects tweeked up games (seems like it)? And if so, what would be considered acceptable, and unacceptable as far as maximum stats for everything in the game? I'm kinda perturbed about it because I can't see how so many people on the Metaverse have gotten such high scores (geeze, like over 1,000,000; come on, I can't even get that score even with a super tweeked up game!), and I've always wondered if they knew someway to cheat legitimately without having anomalous scores. I've noticed on most of my overview scores with tweeked up games are high (like 10,000 or higher), but when it shows the send to Metaverse screen, it's a big fat zero. Does the accumultion of played games have anything to do with super high scores? Also, I really don't want to join an empire either if at all possible, and if that's how everyone is getting such high scores too, then I might just change my mind about that.
Do I need to play on macho level with a huge universe all the time, and keep sending the final scores whether or not I win? Any tips on playing on a much more difficult level without cheating is greatly appreciated too. Thank you!
P.S.- I apologize to the group for sounding like a little bitch, but you have to understand that all my hard work here is not paying off and I'd really like to find out why.
