I want DesktopX 2.4 back

I have upgraded DesktopX to V3 before thinking about how few objects would be available. SInce i'm not into creating my own things I need to have the things from others. I cannot find a link to the last pre-V3 version. I tried restoring via SD but that didn't work very well even if SD thought it did. If the same sample widgets, objects, themes were available for V3 that were shipped as part of V2.4 I would consider sticking with V3. Actually, I'm surprised that these things were not upgraded before V3 was made available. In particular I want the Longhorn theme to work. I really like it.

ExodusCrow,
The Longhorn theme is what I really want back. I found a copy of Longhorn.dxtheme on another computer but when I load it under V3 it doesn't look right. The background is mostly black with streaks of the blue I expect.

Corky,
WIll it work with V3?

dbaldon,

Sorry, I am not sure.

After doing a clean install of XP Pro to clean out the old registry, and reinstalling all my programs (took about 8 hours), I installed the latest and greatest of Object Desktop. Shortly thereafter, I had an issue with V3 and the Core weather widget (which I really like), so I uninstalled and reinstalled V2.39 which I have on a snapshot disc. Problem was not contained to just widgets and went away after installing the older version.

I have e-mailed support to see if they have any ideas.

I would like to get the V2.40.035 back as well (or find and fix the issue I am having with V3), but the restore archive I had saved did not work correctly (it may not work by burning to disc and copying to SDC backup for some reason ).

Anyway, you can give it a shot and see.

no, that is not a rule. Many of my weather widgets do not work anymore.

Not true that all widgets from older versions still work - my RSS feed widget no longer streams, and some of the background colors in another widget have turned all funny.
