Star Wars Mod and 1.2

I am playing with the Star Wars Mod. Can I d/l v1.2 and continue to play with the SWM with current save games?

Newbie Question.

Saved games usually don't work between versions even without any mods installed, so the answer is probably no. It's also recommended that all saved games are deleted when you upgrade, as saving over one created in an earlier version can have some very peculiar results on reload.
