Two quick questions...

What does "Skin is a port" mean..

...and how do you know when your skin is not accepted, does it just not show up on the site?
Because in the old site it would have a little thing next to it saying something like "Being Reviewed", So Im just wondering if i am missing it or if they just do it differently now.

What does "Skin is a port" mean..it means it have been made to work on the windowblind format.and that it came from another style..and how do you know when your skin is not accepted, does it just not show up on the site?
that is a very good way to know but if you go to my skins you can check to see if you skin it there..but you should give 5 days to see if it has been accepted..

"Skin is a port" .... means the skin is not your own work...entirely or in part, being derived from the work of another, not necessarily limited to the Windowblinds section.  Eg, many Winamp skins are 'ported' from Windowblind skins and vise versa.  Shell themes are done similarly.

Normally this is a very complex process as there is no simple mechanism for achieving good results....much manual detail work is needed.

Complex or simple...all ports require consent from the original artist prior to upload/public distribution...
