Great CHallenge ONLY for the truly skilled.

So, I am an avid sports fan and was searching for a good sports ticker for my Desktop. Sadly, there were no good ones to choose from I did however find an official ESPN sports ticker that I immediately downloaded. The problem is that it is very porrly designed and with no skin or color options. I figured since all the serious baddasses, skinners, and programers come here, why not give the challenge/request for somebody to come up with something cool (if it's possible) for this ticker or make your own with the same data source/script. The link to download the ticker is: LinkA few ideas I had were doing away with the ugly orange bar (it serves NO purpose) and just putting simple little tabs for the different sports. Right now it just seems that the use of space is poorly utilized. Some cool skins and color variations would make this a really cool item to have on your desktop and matching your theme. I REALLY appreciate the effort from anyone who thinks they can pull it off. Goodluck with it, and hopefully soon the rest of the sports fans like myself will have an amazing ticker.

Problem with sports stuff is the fact all the logs are copyrighted.

Well first...might want to give it more time than a couple hours.

And second, there was a thread a while back about the use of logos and what-not, the NFL in no-way allows the use of their logos. They don't allow it at all. Not sure about the other franchises but I'm sure it's the same policy. Thus skinners won't be able to use the logos without punitive action and they won't be accepted here because of the threat of this site being in a rather nasty dispute with the big bad sports business (that wouldn't be fun).

Just look at the bottom of NFL.com for starters:

If you want to become their -official skinner - or something then you'd have to start with this (varys in different sports):

I have a great idea for an NFL Licensed Product. Where can I find information on obtaining an NFL license?
For information on obtaining a license to produce NFL merchandise, call (212) 450-2000 and ask for the NFL Licensing Information Line.

Yes, in particular, the American major sports leagues/whatever are VERY protective of their images/logos....and will usually just say 'no'.

Too much money is involved with their 'image' and/or trademark....

Oh, the logos aren't a big deal at all. Who needs logos? Lol. just a cool looking ticker with all the same info. Even the ESPN "Bottomline" sports ticker doesn't have any sports logos on it.
