AP question

pardon my ignorance, but what is the "beta" version of AP? is this the actual Ap that is for sale on stardock or is this like a test version that you buy, and then when actual exspansion comes out this month, you can just download that onto the file you already have from the beta?

A beta of a program is a test version usually not available to everyone, though at this point if you buy it is. As for the second question, yes I would assume so, though you probably want to finsh all the saves you have before updating.
