Galciv notes (1)

1) Again, initial setup screen does not provide a clear link between what you are doing and what is the selected race (please see my previous post on that)

2) Tech description text scrolling is terrible. I'd like to keep clicked and scroll the text. Now I have to click and click and click... :(

3) The text in the main screen describing the type of ship is occasionally partially deleted on the first part (Ex: Transport --> sport)

4) Again, mass changes are very cumbersome because planet list is nice but unpractical. Let's say that the whole planet list, ship list, ... is to be reworked from scratch. GC OS/2 was years ahead of today's GC Win on usability (and we were asking for more...).

5) I'm against that common ships can't cross anomalies etc...

6) Each turn the construction list does not helpin managing. Make a window, make a list and let me take care of it. Now it's easy to forget some items.

BTW, I got crushed. NOPE.
Rather stable till now.

I agree there needs to be a better planet and armed forces screen its a nightmare to navigate in the mid to late stage of the game, i would like see it more in the mould of civ3 city and army screens.

Gherardo,
The old OS2 version did not allow a colony ship to add to a planet's current population
but you can have a transport add to a planet's pop (both versions).

Cheers,
Jack

Well, on the other had it didnt allow colony ships to load a big part of the population like a transporter. It didnt affect the population of the originating planet. Now it loads like a transport, Id expect it to be able to unload as one too.

I wouldn't mind having it like that either.

The game has to allow you to unload a colony ship unto a populated planet. If you have a colony ship with no place to go, you need to take care of the people on board and take them to a safe place. Otherwise you should be punished on morale, or the people on the colony ship should automatically be added to the planet from where they came.
I definitely would like to be able to add to a populated planet from a colony ship if I don't see any good planets around. In GC/2, some times you would have a higher class planet with a very low population growth, and in those cases you could "jump start" the planet by adding more people.

Jack/John LOL
in GC OS/2 you could re-colonize a planet thus effectively adding the colony ship population. You could even rename the planet that way...

Are you talking about the screen that pops up when you've finished building ships or social improvements?

Bjo/rn (please collapse 3rd and fourth chars),
yes the moral penalty was because you had a sudden increase in population...

Cari,
I mean the nice list that is on the bottom right. I'd like to have a popup window where the game stop until I get out of it after having taken care of all of them.
Make me go through the items and at the end push a button to close it. I argue I was confused in explaning. :(
