I cannot submitt any game under this new update. I can under the old one, but why this one is not working? Any ideas when the new patch that fix this problem will be out???

CariElf ansered this question in bugs for AP, but a subsequent post indicates that this may not fix the problem. She indicated that she does not know a date for the next Beta.

Yeah, I can't submit games either, and the fix didn't do me any good. I don't know if it's worth saving up save games and submitting them with the next patch, or if the savegames will all become invalid when that happens.

...and the really annoying thing is that we have no right to complain about it not working, because it's Beta.

Would be nice if they changed Stardock Central so that it retained the ability to download the previous patch without the need to archive it everytime...

Yes, that will be a great idea, that way if a patch is messed up, you could always revert to the previous one. ;)

I know how you feel. The most frustrating part is that other than the submission problem, "K" seems to be working really well.

Dangers of playing with a beta. If you want to build up your Metaverse score/submissions, looks like its back to straight GC 1.20...

May be it is a blessing that I cannot download AP, even though I have paid for it.

I usually "download and archive" so I can back out to an older version. I forgot to this time, and am regretting it.

Yes, Stardock should offer drengin.net subscribers the feature of playing an older version, especially an older stable version when there's a bugged version.

Every once in awhile, I have nostalgia for a game of 1.02. It would be nice to be able to go back.

It's just not right that you have paid for AP and yet can't download it. How can we help you to resolve this problem? :notsure:

Set the automatic option under tools to archive the current version before installing the next one.

We're putting up another beta today, assuming that we don't have any technical problems or anything like that.

It usually happens around end of day SD time if it's going to happen. ;)

Yeah, most beta come out at about closing time for standard businesses, such as Stardock. CariElf, please thank yourself and you fellow workers for me. I know I always try to say this, but it still isn't said enough. THANKS!!!!!! :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:

One minor note:

AP hasn't been "Released" yet. That means that it isn't a shipping product. You may have pre-ordered it, but you aren't entitled to play it until it is released. This is a beta... it's not the final, "complete" version of the game. That means that there could be "problems" doing it.

Small distinction. If AP was a car, then the equivalent would be that the factory is letting you try out various "prototypes" to drive around at their facilities. It's not a "production line" model that is available in a dealer's show room or lot to be driven home. It's a minor distinction, but an important one. I definately understand the frustration, as most of Star Dock's betas of GC have been very playable in my experience. But with betas, that's what you have to tolerate. In exchange for getting to try out the program sooner, you have to put up with any of the problems that come along with it.

I archived version 1.02. Just because I liked it so much. :)

nicely described Star Pilot ...
what really gets to me is that i cant get any previous betas to play and submit games, why stardock cant put some more successful betas on the side ?!

True, it would be nice if they would post not only the latest build, but the previous one as well. Sort of a little insurance policy just in case. But us folks who willingly play the AP betas were warned.

CariElf has described elsewhere recently how you can set the Star Dock to automatically keep an archive of your updates. It is supposed to make a zip backup and then download the new updates when set to that option. If you did that, then you'd have "older" versions you could restore to, and therefore play/submit/etc.
