Problems with game patches

I've had this game since last weekend. Earlier today, I completed my first game. I have heard about there being patches for this game. So I came to this site and downloaded the "free expansion", 1.2 I think.

Next, I thought there might have been more things to download. So I did that stardock central thing, and I am unsure if I downloaded anything on that or not.. I think I did, but it said somthing like I couldn't download because I didn't register somewhere.. I think...

Was the 1.2 expansion enough? Did I waste my time with stardock central? Did stardock central download anything onto my computer? Did 1.2 already come with all the available updates? Some one please explain to me, I'm very confused

the new expansion Altarian Prophacy is in Beta and only awaialble for preoder or Drengin.net costumers.
AP will have some new feature such as editors and 2 new AIs.
SDC does only d/l his own patches to your system, no other files, sa lnog as you don't order it to do so

Uh oh! So I guess I have to reinstall GalCiv to get that beta expansion off. I had no idea it was a beta :SURPRISED:

The (standard, free) expansion you got is not the beta one.

Stardock Central allows you to upgrade Galciv to the latest version with downloading only the needed files (which is different from the traditionnal patch that have alls files added to galciv 1.0). But to do so, you must register your game in Stardock Central.

And Alterian Prophecy beta is the version 1.49 and need a specific serial ID.
