Odd problem

I just finished playing a gigantic game late last night. I wasn't paying attention when I submitted it and later relized that I had recieved a score of 0 because of an anomolus difficulty. I had the AI set at normal. The odd thing is I went back to try to figure out why I got that and now it shows the game was fine. Anyone have any ideads as to why it would do this?

Do you have any mods installed? Generally, that is what causes problems like that.

You likely had a planet with a very high PQ. Anything over a certain level is illegal, so mods that raise it up a very high percentage over its base value will get anomalous.

I have some mods installed, but the other games I submitted had them too.

I haven't had that happen before, but I don't have any planets with a real high PQ they top out in the high twenties and some low thirties.

I had upwards of 60,000, but I had accumulated it over a number of turns. I think the most I got in one turn was around 3000.
I didn't use cheat mode

Hmmm...I don't think that should cause an zero score. Which mods did you have installed, and what did your political party have for bonuses?

I have quite a few mods installed I can list them if you want but it will be a fairly long list. My bonuses were Morale-20 Research-50 Luck-25 and I was using the scientologists from one of the mods I installed.

Those shouldn't do anything. Nothing extreme about them.

What are the bonuses given to that? Anything extreme or in large quantities?

Also, how much money did you have in the games you completed with sucessful scores? Was it the same, or did you do better with your cash in this game?

I would like to hear something from Stardock about what causes anomolus scores. We seem to be getting a lot of urban myths about why. Maybe they don't tell us because this adds to the mystery of the game, but it also leads to a lot of posts that are not quite true. I have seen planets with PQ scores of way over a hundred with no anomolus scores. In one game, the same planet got the PQ+35 bonus twice. If it started out with 20 PQ, that alone would put it at PQ 90.

These urban myths also keep people from playing with MODS, when, in fact, they really do add some interesting variety to an allready interesting game.

What I would really like to see is an error messge that says why the score is anomolus, e.g., PQ too high, or, too much money early in the game, or ...

ImperialSadukarElite go to the abilities screen and check the value of the Planet Quality ability. If it's over 40 you're toast.

I am under the impression that using the "stardock certified" mods won't lead you to anomalous score. But I could be wrong.

Strange, this is the first thing I look in the summary screen at the end of the game: the metaverse points awarded. And this is before the submission screen.

It's not the individual PQ of a planet that triggers the anomalous score.

It's the PQ ability which you can see on your stats page.  If it goes above 40, your score will be submitted as a zero.

I had a Planet 51PQ my scoring was OK!
And, for those who interested i don't have any special mods to mugnify my PQ.

how did it happened? at first it was 24PQ planet or something(wasnt mine, Arceanians') then there was an event, with an increase by 25, also i built Terraforming Tech on the planet and Galactic Wonder(Terraformer). Reaching 51PQ...

:D Well, I use all the MODS and I do rarely get an anomolous score. I have seen planets with a PQ > 100. I am not sure what the PQ ability was. I took over a planet that started out as 20+ and then received a PQ=35 bonus twice making the planet PQ > 90 when I took over and none of the PQ builds had been built yet.

Only Mods that kick the PQ over 40 will trigger the 0 score.

To be more precise, according to CariElf, the PQ ability must go over 40, not the PQ of any given planet. So, planets can go as high as they go, but what we don't know is how planet PQ is related to PQ ability. There must be some sort of algorithm involved. Also, what is not clear is if the PQ ability applies to a specifc planet, or is constant across the galaxy.

I had around that much at the end of most of my other games.

It was late and I was tired. It was my own fault for not paying attention.I looked at the score at the end game summary and it was around 15000, but I didn't look at the score on the submission screen, which evidently was zero.

Well there's my problem. I just looked at my stats and I had a PQ ability of 41. What luck. Thanks for the help everyone

To be clear... tripping the PQ flag will not display a zero score on the summary or submission scren at the end of the game. You will only find out after you do the submit.

Remember you can submit the game twice. If you have not already done so you could go back and replay the game avioding the TG/Wonder/Achievment that put you over 40 PQ and submit again.

Not for the PQ flag. Possibly for other triggers. At least this was my experience with the zero I currently have in my profile.
