They slowly heal themselves, just like ships. You can build several modules that heal ships (and starbases) faster.

To speed up your repairing time i would recomend you to research Basic Repair -> advanced, then build micro repair bots(galactic wonder), Organic Armour. That would enough for your ships and SBs to repair quite fast. ;)

Contructors should be able to help repair starbases I think.

That is correct, but only in building out modules on the starbase that deal with repairs.

There is only one module that helps with Repair... it's Military/Repair (+1% Repair Rate).

The main trick is don't let star bases get attacked. If you want to keep a star base, defend it with some decent ships.

After that, get all the +Repair techs as mentioned previously in other posts.

I really meant that instead of building modules constuctors should be able to repair damage.

Waste of a good constructor. ;) Imagine adding on to your military modules on that base instead, making your star ships defend the SB better. It's not like SBs can defend themselves well in GC to begin with. Once you get to the mid(BS) and more advanced ships, SBs are just non-moving targets.

One constructor= total repair of starbase. Good trade.

I must concur with GoblinCookie.

Don't think its good idea. Because situation could for instance your SB hitpoints 77/120, one constructor fixes up 43 hp, and another example 7/120 would repair 113!!! hp, Do you see difference between 43 and 113 hitpoints to be repaired by same Constructor! It's a bit unfair! And it also makes game a bit unrealistic, which we really don't want to..

Unfair? As opposed to one constructor building a whole new one out of scratch? I think the same "unrealism" that builds the starbases can apply to repairing them too.

What about letting Constructors repair up to it's own number of hitpoints. And by the way why is there no hitpoint increasing modules to build?
Because the hitpoints on starbases use the same system that ships do. IE technologies like exotic alloys increase hitpoints on ships also increase hitpoints on starbases. Same with Tristrontium Steel.

Thats not an answer:
I can build ships with 1, 10, 20, 30, 100 etc. base-hitpoints. I can add defense, and defense is increased by technology, the military resource, and anomalities, etc..
Survey ships sart out with 40 base hitpoints, but often end up with far more than that. I had one game (in the demo where there are far more spacjunk laying around) where my Survey ship ended up with almost as many hitpoints from spacejunk as it had from the start of the game.
So I ask again, why is there no hitpoint adding modules for starbases?

Probably because SD did not think of it or thought it wasn't important enough to assign their resources (coders) to do.

Well, let's hope they think of it in the future, or take this as a sugestion. ;)

I agree that constructors should be able to heal hit points, either fully or up to the constructor's hits.
