Playing music in GAL CIV!

Well: the subject is about where can we add MP3s (in wich folders) for listening when we are playing Gal CIV.
And another question: the playlist folder- how can we make a new playlist???
Hope there will be good answers
Thanks LOL

Mine are M3U files created by saving a group of mp3's together by using a program called "Smart MP3 CD Burner". This program will take any mp3 and you can save them to a variety of file types. Glaciv seems to like M3U the best. Let me know if you need a copy of the program and i will enable it for download in the Senate Halls.

All M3U files or playing in the game go in the "Galciv/playlist" folder. Then use the ESC interface to select it. Its that easy :)

Hope that helps.

You can also enter a path to a folder with music files (like *.mp3) instead of a playlist file. Just type it this way in the playlist dialog:

c:\music\placebo

GalCiv will then play the files in that folder at random. I find that even easier ;)

That's great info Aeon. Thanks.

Does anyone know how to stop the "research complete" event music from overriding the MP3s? I've got the "DisableEventMusic=1" line in the prefs.ini, but it doesn't seem to do any good. :notsure:

Magnumaniac have you tried just renaming the offending music from the galciv folder. its the one called "DISC" in the "galciv/event music" folder.

Havent tried it myself, so please let me know the outcome...

Good call DW. ;) Seems to work, no errors coming up. Done the same for the "race" music aswell. Thanks!

Now I can destroy Yor to the sound of screaming guitars without interruption. :D LOL :HOT:
