Something I Wrote Over Easter Break

I don't really have a title for it.

This little girl
So wild and free
So very full of glee.

So beautiful is the girl
But she just doesn't see
How beautiful she can really be.

She has so much to live for
Yet she cries all day and night,
Only pretending to be happy when she is in sight.

She covers her beauty
She wears a mask
With only one question to ask.

She wants to know why she's here
As she sheds each and every tear.

All she wants is a purpose to life
She no longer wants to look at the knife,
The knife of pain that dawns her days and sets her nights.

The pain of nobody being there
The pain of each and every tear.

But someone tell her she's beautiful
She will not listen to me
She just sits there and stares back at me through the glass.

I try to speak to her
But she does not listen
Does she even hear me,
Or is it not getting through?

I want to tell her things will be okay
I want to tell her that she is beautiful
But I can't as she just stands there,
Blinking her pretty little eyes at me
Just wishing she could be free.
