Alignment

In my opinion there needs to add more options to control alignment throughout the game. As is it pretty much is either you get good during colonization or your chances are shot forever, the further alignment choices in the game are very rare, and sometimes non-existent as in my last game, where I was stuck on neutral, and it took me like 15 turns to figure out that it wasn't a tech I was missing to stop me from building paladins.
Often no matter how hard I try I am unable to attain pure good, I go good on all of the message and towards the end of the game since I have no other options left I try to colonize all the 12-15's for alignment choices, even then I usually don't get it. This calls for a change

I think seeing an alignment choice for one random planet every 4-5 turns would not be such a bad thing, no PQ affecting messages after initial colonization.

Also maybe allowing players to start at a given alignment as well as computers. Not allow them to get pure good or pure evil as starting, but allow players to start as chaotic good or chaotic evil.

This seems like simple enough changes that you could slip them into the next AP update.

Other players say what you think, let them know they should try and get this in the next game update

I like that idea. I play some long AP games now. The events are few and far between as opposed to 1.20. Perhaps this was done on purpose, but I would like to see alignment event occur more often.

The lack of events is the only reason I am not pure good. Even on Gigantic Maps which I like playing rarely get my alignment to pure good.

Another way it could work (for GalCiv 2) is to have your alignment be based on the average of all your decisions. So if you make one just choice, and you make it good, then you're pure good.

That sounds like a good proposal since you can't refuse to opt for something.
I wish there would be some good/evil choices in UP issues too.

Somebody mentioned to me awhile ago that some players did edit some events. To help to make it easier to become pure good.

Does anybody know if there are files and/or a safe mod I can try ?

I was the one doing that (unless others were doing it too). I have the files on my computer but they're not in the library.

I'm willing to mail my event files to friendlies, but they use various pcx files and I'm not sure which ones were there to start with.

D'oh, no can do. My empire will dissolve under me first. ;) I do recall lurking in the Prancing Pony and you we're talking about testing this whole thing. The kitten event stands out in my mind.
