Firefox's autocomplete - how to edit the stored data

I have autocomplete on for Firefox. (I think that's what it called. Whatever it is that stores the values you have entered in form datas and suggest as you type.) However, there are a couple of times I've written something and happend to hit [Return] and submitted the data before it should. This cause the incomplete data to be saved in the autocomplete list. How can I get rid of these values that I don't want there? I've looked the menues for a form manager, but with no luck. Even the Firefox support pages, but I couldn't find anything. Does anyone here know?

Ok, I believe this will work..Go to the tools tab and choose options, in the options box on the left side choose the privacy option, when the new window opens to the right you will see an option that reads "Saved Form Information" with a "Clear" button next to it..just clear it and restart the browser..should take care of it..

Well, it's just that I'd like to keep most the data. Just remove a couple of entires.

Well there is one other thing you may try..it works in IE, I have never used it in FF..In the *Auto Complete* list highlight the incomplete data and hit the "Del" key ..

In IE this erases it, I havent tried in in FF..
Thats all I can suggest, I hope it works!

You can do that in IE. hm, didn't know that.
Anyways, it didn't work in Firefox. Thanks for the tip and suggestion though.

::nods:: YuP you can..I discovered the ability to do it in IE when I was trying to clear my search engines, then I discovered it worked on web page auto complete box's as well..I was more than happy..::laughs:: it was getting quite full of stuff!

Anyway, thats too bad FF doesnt work the same..There must be a way, if you find it I would appreciate knowing the "Trick" as well!

I was actually just about to go and open up the files in the profile folder of Firefox. Saved me a bit of time and work there. ...except for teh work it actualy caused me to find it...

Well awesome! .. Basically the same as IE except for adding the "Shift" key..I wouldnt believe there wasnt a way to do it other than the "hard" way..Would have been a shame if there were not a way to do it, FF is such an awesome browser! ..cool..
