Planets in view on mini map

Just a quick update on this. There was some discussion a few days ago on whether this is working correctly as it seems to show planets more than 2 sectors away. The following is my understanding of what is happening.

Mini map shows planets in sectors which are beside sectors already explored. An explored sector is any sector which has a square revealed by sensor in it. No ship need ever have entered this sector and it need not be shown as explored on the mini-map (can still be greyed out).

Confusion is generated due to differences between an explored sector on the minimap (which is no longer shown in grey) and planets being revealed based on another 'explorated' criteria. Could planets in neighbouring sectors only be revealed when a sector is revealed on minimap?

As I understand it, if a ship's view extends into a sector it is considered explored. Since the build after
my report I have not seen any case where stars more than one sector from explored sectors show in the minimap.

I know Jack.
There is no error or problem with this. Just some confusion when you can see planets which according to the mini-map are 2 unexplored sectors away.
The confusion comes from the fact that this sector is considered explored for revealing planets but not explored for removing the grey from the sector in the mini-map. These two should use the same explored criteria.
