Some observations

First off, I am sorry if these are all duplicated, I do not have the time to keep up to date with this forum.

1. Thank you very much for having a Beta so early ( pre-Alpha really since there are features not implemented ). In the end it will make for a batter game since we get to give feedback quite early in the dev cycle.

2. I like the direction of the ship design screen - it's great to visualize the ship as you add components. Some suggestions for this screen: a) maybe the option of adding a description as well as the name to the design - so it's displayed just like the stock ship designs. b) Maybe right-clicking on a component in the component list can remove it. c) how will the weapons, defences, etc be ordered in the lists? Will they be sorted by damage done, time of discovery, tech level?

3. I found the scrolling speed too slow - the frame-rate looked fine but the speed seemed limited programatically ( not by framerate ). I'm sure this is a tweak and eventually an options menu will be added top control the speed. But the default as it is now I found much too slow.

You can already do this; When you finish your design and save it, a popup appears for you to set a name and description for the new ship.

1. No prob!  It's fun to see the game work its way from these eraly stages to the final game that'll be released in the months ahead (9 months, I beleive).  Keep the feedback coming and we're bound to have a game that pleases as many players as possible! 

2b. This would probably work, or perhaps have an X button next to all filled slots..or something more intuitive than what's there now 

2c. They'll eventually be sortable by their weapon type (Mass Driver, Beam, and Missile), then sorted alphabetically (Lasers Mark I, Lasers Mark II, Phasers Mark I, Photons Mark I, ect).

3. Eventually the scrolling speed (when you mouse over an edge of the game window) will be an option that can be set by the player.  For now we can speed it up for everyone, since alot of players are complaining about this.
