Installing Altarian P?

Okay, I am missing something really basic here. I paid the twenty bux, was sent to install SDC which I did, went to the games section, and 'automatically' downloaded 'updates.' Now, none of these was the AP. What am I missing???

Same thing happened to me!

I paid, they thanked me ... and that was it! SDC finds no update and no AP :( I was not asked for a registration # anywhere .

Dondo, did you work this one out ? Anybody ?

my problem is that i paid for the game got it downloaded. i try to play and it automatically just returns to the desktop. do i need to download something else for win xpor what

I maybe wrong, but I guess that in SDC, you must enter the serial ID associated with AP.

In Stardock Central which can be downloaded here:

If you get an error with Invalid Chunk or something when installing, you can try this beta version of Stardock Central:

http://storage.stardock.com/files/sdc191_beta.exe

You need to go to Tools->Register Products and enter the serial that you received in your e-mail under Altarian Prophecy.

Do not install Altarian Prophecy to the Gal Civ directory.  If you do, it will overwrite files that should not be overwritten and you'll mess up both your installs and have to re-install both of them.  Altarian Prophecy reads the registry to find out where Gal Civ is installed and loads the necessary files.

hawkeyes3103, if you installed AP to its own directory and you're still getting crashes when it starts, please send me your debug.err file from the Altarian Prophecy directory.

I too bought the down-load version, but when I run SDC & go to "Register Products" and paste in my AP serial, it tells me that the serial is invalid. I tried several times, both pasteing and typing it in, to no avail. I even hit the "look up serial number" button, waited for the e-mail. It sent me both my GC number and my AP number, but the AP number was the same one I had alread tried. I cut & pasted it again, same result. Any thoughts?

Never mind...I figured out my problem. Since it had never mattered with GC (was a bit frustrated with the "Invalid Chunck" problem with updating GC (found a way around that one), I didn't notice that, on the register products option, you had to pick the right catagory & then pull-down the right product...guess I was to much in a hurry!
