Suggestions playing Maso games

Phew, finally my first Maso at 1.04 over. Mil/Small/Evil.
Heres my suggestions based on that experience.

1. One PQ bonus per race/game. Or something similar to balance this awesome benefit better. Right now the temptation to roll the dice again (Save/Load) is too high, especially with the Evil path. This helped me loads but it is unfair too.

2. Would be nice to have an tax option that would effectively say: "Keep my taxes at highest level that gives Morale 100%". Or 95-99%. My fingers hurt adjusting that each turn.

Another finger hurt are the wasted resources (adjusting M/S/R correctly each turn) but it seems that has already been discussed pretty well in the past. However, if the wasted was automatically allocated to something it would help a lot. However, obviously this is one of the few benefits AI has....easy for him to play with 0 credits wasted through the whole game.

By the way, how about showing wasted credits in one of the reports at the end of game?

3. Would be great to have some kind of log of all techs acquired during the game. Either researched, or traded. For traded techs (and possibly other goods), show detail what was traded with whom and for how much. I am currently tracking this on Notepad screen but it tends to be inconsistent in the heat of the battle!

Of course, it would be really nice to see the same information for Enemy races too.

4. Documentation:
- Document what happens to wasted resources.
- Document if old game can be loaded with new version. If yes, what may be the consequences. (Maybe include this in the version history for newbie players.)

Some of this kind of vital information is now hidden in the forum...and in many cases never even found!

> One PQ bonus per race/game

Meant to say, one PQ random event per race/game. Maybe other type of events at colonization time should be similarly restricted also. I think I totally abused this feature in my last super Evil game. Not just any evil, more like a true Darth Vader personality :d

the pq bonuses sure help, but I sometimes regret the advantage when the arceans, the torians, and the altarians all declare war on me early on because of my evil alignment.

Wasted resources are really an issue with galciv. It gets really important on tiny/maso where every resource and every turn are important.

And, of course, that's without saying, that I am tired of having to micro-manage them every single turn. Am I the Galactic Emperor, or what? >:(

Another suggestion is to just base the morality
choices on a random number generated using the base the
seed of the game plus the planet id.

This way while its still random from a player perspective
it will always be the same event regardless of how
many times you save and reload.

Sounds good to me. Somehow the benefit from repeating the Save-Load cycle should be eliminated. At least for those ones that can virtually make or break the game.

Altarians then FINALLY came after us. However their huge fleet of battleships became a bunch of high maintenance sitting ducks which we could basically completely ignore. DIDNT KNOW SENSOR SHIPS ROCK SO WELL!!! By then we had a +3 speed advantage, further boosted by those lovely inverse tractor beams in key sectors. JAM TIME :) It was basically over by then. As topping of the cake, Altarians preferred going down for Dreadnougths rather than Hyper, but then never afforded building one. A Very Nice Bonus indeed!
