Banking Center cost vs Benefit

I might just be being paranoid but it seems that a Bank would have a very beneficial impact on the local economy. But to me it seems that the planet costs soar and you get no real benefit out of having a bank. I've started delaying building a banking center as a result and the cost base seems to remain much more reasonable as a result.

(Not knowing what the cost of a bank is, as the Maintenance for all improvements is listed as 0, its hard to tell. Posted separately)

Dominic,
Could this be a population related problem? That is, if a banking system is built
on a planet with a very small population then will the revenue it produces be more
than the expense of running the bank? Similar to a small town in the real world
might experience?

it could well be that Jack but how small is it. I've preceived at least negative effects from banking centers with populations in the 1000 billion. Or so it seems anyway. Hopefully it will become much clearer once the maintenance costs of each item are displayed.

I, too, am seeing anomalous spending/income rates. I have for several builds. Is this one of the
"tweeking" things that are going to be done later?
