Turbine Entertainment has announced that the alpha stage of Dungeons & Dragons Online will begin in "the near future." D&D Online is to be the first MMORPG based directly on the fantasy game from TSR and Wizards of the Coast, and is set for release in the later half of the year. Atari will handle the publishing in North America and Europe while Turbine gets the task of localization for Asia.
Like most alpha stages the test will begin with a handful of players joining the realm of Stormreach with more to be added "on a regular basis." Players will be able to create the common D&D races such as humans, dwarves and elves. Head over to the registration page to sign-up before they close.
